No Babies Were Abducted Anywhere In Anambra –Commissioner

Listen to article

The Government of Anambra state says no babies were kidnapped anywhere in the state contrary to fictitious reports flying in the social media of the abduction of four newborn babies at a certain unidentified hospital in the state.

This was contained in a press statement made available to The Eastern Updates by the Information Commissioner, Sir Paul Nwosu.

The press statement reads, ‘There are reports currently flying around the social media by supposedly respectable national media that gunmen attacked a maternity hospital in Anambra State and abducted four (4) new born babies. The report neither stated the name of the hospital nor the identities of the mothers whose babies were abducted.’

The Government of Anambra State wishes to state in very clear terms that the report is not true. No such attack took place in Anambra State and no babies were abducted.

These are mere fictitious, sponsored through dishonest and unethical reporters to create fear among Ndi Anambra, but they will not succeed as Government has ensured there is enough boots on ground to protect our people this Yuletide.

Anybody that dares the government resolve to ensure a peaceful season will only have himself to blame.

Government is urging Ndi Anambra to go about their normal businesses without fear.’

In another report, the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has called on states in the South East and their residents to ignore the sit-at-home order and threat by the self-styled pro-Biafra leader, Simon Ekpa.

The Eastern Updates reports that MASSOB which condemned in strong words the activities of Ekpa urged Ndigbo to go about their normal business without fear.

The Movement wondered how someone who claims to be a freedom fighter for his people would turn around to be their nightmare and tormentor.
