Gunmen Kidnap Cleric In Anambra After Kidnap Of Lawmaker

In the rising spate of kidnaps in Anambra State, some yet-to-be identified gunmen have finally abducted the Leader-General of All Christian Practical Praying Band, Elder Dan Nwokolo.

The incident, according to a family source had occurred on Wednesday night while the victim was returning to his house from his prayer ministry.

It was gathered that the hoodlums allegedly invaded the residence of the cleric at Ufuma in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State and abducted him after he finished a midnight prayer session and just returned to his compound.

According to the family source, the suspected abductors picked the cleric from his car, in front of his residence and immediately zoomed off in their vehicle, leaving his driver and his vehicle behind.

The hoodlums allegedly double-crossed his vehicle right in front of his compound, ordered him down and whisked him into their own vehicle and immediately zoomed off.

The source further hinted that up until now, no contact has been established between the family and the suspected abductors.

In another report, some unknown Gunmen operating around the Ihiala Local Government Area axis of Anambra State have abducted a former member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Benson Nwawulu.

The Eastern Updates gathered from credible sources that Nwawulu, a two-term lawmaker in the state assembly was abducted in his house in Ihiala last Sunday.

Nwawulu left Anambra Assembly in 2019, and had also contested for a seat in the House of Representatives, but failed.

Though details of his abduction were not made public, a source revealed to The Eastern Updates that the former lawmaker’s son has reached out to some current members of the state assembly who were Nwawulu’s colleagues for funds.
