You Lied Against Kanu, IPOB – Barrister Aloy Slams Buhari

Listen to article

Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, who is the Special Counsel to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has blasted the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari over his latest comments against the agitator and the IPOB organisation.

Barrister Ejimakor had also accused President Muhammadu Buhari of lying against Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB in his latest comments.

He had made notes of the fact that Buhari lied to the world that Kanu jumped bail and that IPOB members vandalized oil pipelines.

In a tweet, the counsel stressed that Buhari’s call that the international communities should designate IPOB as a terrorist organization would not happen.

He wrote: “RIGHT OF REPLY: In the past few days, the President has made IPOB & Nnamdi Kanu his main business, saying that:

“#IPOB blows up pipelines: Not true!

“#MNK jumped bail: Not true! Umuahia court settled it.

“The world should declare IPOB a terror group: It won’t happen! It’s not!”

A few days ago, the President had linked vandalism of oil pipelines in the country to IPOB members.

Speaking with British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, Buhari said Kanu jumped bail once, and may do the same again. He said the IPOB leader must defend all his rant against the Nigerian Government.

In an interview with reporters on Wednesday, IPOB Media and Publicity Secretary Emma Powerful had also rejected the President’s accusation that the group was damaging pipelines, calling it absurd.

Responding to Buhari’s allegation, IPOB spokesman, Powerful, stated that it was ‘funny’ and ‘laughable.’

He said the group’s only interest was the actualisation of the ‘Biafra freedom struggle’ and nothing else.

He stated IPOB’s leadership was studying Buhari’s comments and would respond to him appropriately.
