Police Investigates Shooting Of Family Of Five In Imo

The Imo State Police Command has launched an investigation into the shooting of a family of five in Okporo, Orlu Local Government Area, in the state’s crisis-ridden Orlu Local Government Area.

The military’s spokesperson, Micheal Abattam, informed reporters that after receiving a report on the event, the command swung into action.

‘The victims were shot while holding a family meeting’, he confirmed.

Abattam said that investigation would reveal the identities of those who shot the victims.

He said, ‘We started an investigation into the incident. They were in a meeting when they were shot. Investigation would unravel all the circumstances behind the shootings. Let us wait for the report of the investigation.’

A video footage that had gone viral had shown a family of five in the pool of their blood.

While two appeared to have died, the other three, which included two elderly men and a mother, were in pain, asking for helpers to come their way.

While some alleged that they were shot by the operatives of Ebubeagu Security outfit, others suggested that they might have been shot by other criminal elements.
