The aspirant said that anybody who still prioritizes politics, ethnicity, religion or personal gains over our national survival does not understand the level of mess we are in.

He said: “It is insensitivity for the major political parties in a time as crucial as now to raise the prices of their nomination forms in addition to the ridiculous process of obtaining and submitting those forms.

“The parties’ internal democratic process matters a lot. Because if the foundation be destroyed, what can the righteous do?”.

Agbo, however, called on the country’s youths to pool their strength and other advantages together to find a definition and identify for this generation.

“We (youths) are more advantaged than the previous generations in many spheres.

“Yet we are overburdened with countless distractions and challenges, which only our collective and sincere asking of questions and selfless commitments can help us address,” he said.

On the Presidency of South-East extraction, Agbo said that it was unfortunate that for the first time since 1999 that Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is throwing their presidential zoning arrangement open just to sideline the South-East.

He noted that the party used the same zoning to elect their party’s leadership at the just concluded national convention; while PDP had enjoyed the highest support from the South-East for 22 years.

“I call on the All Progressives Congress (APC) to give an lgbo aspirant their presidential ticket.

“While calling on all Igbos at home or abroad to unite as we take a stand because 2023 is not only just strategic but a defining moment,” he appealed.

He urged all to do well to participate in the electoral process by first obtaining their Permanent Voters Cards and get ready to vote out bad governance that had led to endless agitations and complaints by many.

Agbo noted that he was nursing the ambition of dropping his governorship aspiration, adding that “for long, my main interest has always been putting Enugu State and Alaigbo (Igbo land) first.

“I will therefore commit to aligning with other credible leaders for the same purpose of rescuing our dear state – Enugu State and Alaigbo in general,” he said.

Council Boss urges residents to embrace govt’ policies on environmental protection, preservation

Mr Victor Ebonka, Chairman of Ika North East Local Government Area, has called on residents to embrace government’s policies on environmental protection and preservation.

Ebonka said this on Wednesday at the excavation and evacuation of long aged refuse heaps at various locations in the locality.

According to him, the quest to keep the LGA clean will not be compromized; we will continue to engage every available strategy to ensure we have a healthy environment.

“What we are doing here today is in line with our resolution to ensure our environment is clean. A lot has been achieved in this direction; we will not leave any stone unturned until it becomes part of the people.

“We have been able to make the PSP services very affordable. I believe that we are battling with a mentality which have been developed over the years

“That is reason we are urging residents of the area to embrace government’s policies on environmental protection and preservation by engaging the services of PSP Operators

“However, those hell-bent on defacing the environment through their illicit activities would be arrested and duly prosecuted,” he stated.

The council chairman warned residents against the dangers posed by the poor waste management system to human beings and the environment.
