Ezekiel Izuogu, Automobile Inventor Passes On

Imo State, again, lost a prominent son on Saturday. Engr. Ezekiel Izuogu passed on Saturday

Izuogu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), according to his wife, Ngozi Izuogu, passed away on Friday evening.

Izuogu’s spouse said that her husband was ill for about two to three weeks before he passed on.

An Electrical Engineer, and a former lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Izuogu produced the first indigenous Nigerian prototype car
It was also the first automobile of indigenous all-African technology.

An industrialist of repute, Izuogu veered into politics, and tried a couple of times to be elected Imo State Governor. He was unsuccessful.

Recall that the Imo State-born Izuogu was the former head of the Progressive Movement of Nigeria.
