Nigeria Governors’ Forum, NGF, has strongly condemned the latest killings in Yelewata and Daudu communities in Guma Local Government Area of Benue state.
A statement by the Chairman of the forum, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State, on Monday, described the heinous act as a grievous affront to human dignity and must be unequivocally condemned.

“The Nigeria Governors’ Forum stands in unwavering solidarity with the bereaved families and the state government at this time of profound sorrow.
“We pray for the peaceful response of the departed souls, divine comfort for grieving families, speedy recovery for the injured and the resilience of survivors,” the statement added.
The forum, further pledged its full cooperation and readiness to assist Benue state and relevant authorities in restoring peace and security.
“We urge every Nigerian, irrespective of creed or affiliation, to denounce such brutality and collaborate towards forging a nation rooted in peace, justice and mutual respect,” it added.
The forum extended its profound condolences to the state governor, the government and the people regarding the devastating attack on the two communities.
The Benue State Government has declared Wednesday, June 18, 2025, a public holiday to mark the official visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the state.
The Eastern Updates reports that Tinubu had announced that he would cut short his schedule to visit Benue State over the recent attacks on the state.
In a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Serumun Deborah Aber, the President is expected in the state on a one-day condolence visit to commiserate with the government and people of Benue over the recent spate of violent attacks that have led to numerous deaths.
