The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Monday launched the distribution of 10,000 professional kits for midwives in the South-East region.

The gesture is intended to complement the ongoing federal government retraining exercise for 120,000 frontline health workers nationwide.

She disclosed that over 60,000 health workers have completed their training.

“In view of this, the Renewed Hope Initiative is distributing 60,000 kits (scrubs and Crocs) to our midwives, nurses, and other health workers as an incentive to encourage them in their work and improve healthcare delivery.

“Since January 2025, we have distributed 50,000 of these kits to the South-West, South-South, North-East, North-West, North-Central and today we’re in South-East to distribute the remaining 10,000 kits.

“I thank God that today we’re concluding the distribution of these kits to every part of Nigeria. I’m very excited about that,” she said.

The First Lady said the donations were made possible through the generous support of an anonymous global partner dedicated to improving health outcomes for Nigerian citizens.

Mrs Tinubu also announced the launch of the “Free to Shine Triple Elimination Campaign” for HIV/AIDS, syphilis, and hepatitis in Enugu State.

This initiative aims to promote healthier mothers, reduce new HIV infections, and eliminate mother-to-child transmission of HIV.

The Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to building a creative economy through culture, tourism, and the arts.

Musawa spoke on Monday during a visit to former Nigerian president, Olusegun Obasanjo, and a tour of his presidential library in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

The minister said her visit to the architectural masterpiece was part of the ongoing holistic and comprehensive research into the country’s treasure trove nationwide.

She stated that the Federal Government, through the Renewed Hope Culture and Creative Project, is committed to building the Abuja Creative City and other creative cities across the country as part of its diversification strategy.
