The Presidency on Thursday said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains fully engaged in Nigeria’s governance even though he is away in Europe.
It said Tinubu’s absence remains temporary and in line with the communicated timeframe of approximately two weeks.
Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, said the President will return after the Easter holiday.
A statement he signed reads: “The President left Paris for London at the weekend and has maintained constant communication with key government officials, overseeing critical national matters, including directives to security chiefs to address emerging threats in some parts of the country.
“His return to Abuja and the resumption of duties at Aso Villa will follow the conclusion of the Easter holiday.
“The President’s commitment to his duties remains unwavering, and his administration continues to function effectively under his leadership.
“We appreciate the public’s concern and assure all Nigerians that governance proceeds without interruption.”
In other news, The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi has declared that President Bola Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State will spend eight years in power.
Umahi disclosed this during the launch of the second phase construction of Kaduna-Abuja-Kano road project.
He also faulted the opposition coalition, stressing that they should be constructive and not destructive.
Recall that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and a chieftain of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, had announced a coalition.
The opposition coalition was aimed at ousting Tinubu from power.
On Friday, Atiku, El-Rufai and some former governors had met with ex-President Muhammadu Buhari and opposition figures in Kaduna State.
However, Umahi said: “I want to assure you, my dear governor, Uba Sani, that I’m also a prophet. It was only David in the Bible that was prophet and a preacher, and God has told me that you will do 8 years, and Bola Ahmed Tinubu will do 8 years.
“The voice of God is the voice of men, but let me advice the so-called coalition and opposition, when you are in opposition, you are doing constructive opposition not destructive ones.
