Former President, Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday received a delegation of All Progressives Congress (APC) governors at his residence in Kaduna.
The visit, led by Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, who chairs the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), was to offer Sallah greetings and congratulate Buhari on the completion of Ramadan fasting.
Speaking to journalists after the visit, Uzodimma described the meeting as a gesture of respect and appreciation.
“This visit is symbolic and deeply rooted in respect, loyalty, and continued appreciation for the statesmanship, leadership, and legacy of President Muhammadu Buhari,” he said.
“As a party, we remain united and committed to the ideals of good governance which he championed during his tenure.”
Other governors present included Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe), Uba Sani (Kaduna), AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa), Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi), Nasir Idris (Kebbi), and Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Ondo).
Also in attendance were Monday Okpebholo (Edo), Usman Ododo (Kogi), Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), and Hyacinth Alia (Benue).
In other news, the scheduled press conference between US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been cancelled, according to the White House.
The White House did not offer an immediate explanation for why the news conference was cancelled.
The press conference was set to take place following the meeting between the two leaders today.
The White House informed the press pool that the scheduled 2:30 pm press conference would no longer take place.
Trump and Netanyahu were expected to discuss the latest Israeli military operations in Gaza.
The two leaders were also expected to discuss the new US tariffs announced by Trump against Israel and other countries recently.
