Listen to article

The Abia State Police Command has announced that it has stripped one of its Mobile Police officers of their uniform and expelled them from the force as part of efforts to maintain discipline. The officer’s dismissal stems from what the command described as unethical conduct, underscoring its commitment to enforcing standards within its ranks.

A press statement the command issued on Wednesday and signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO DSP Maureen Chinaka on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Danladi Isa, read, “The public is hereby notified that Inspector Kufere Moses, formerly serving at Mopol 55 PMF Aba and attached to UBA Bank Guard in Aba, Abia State has been dismissed from the Nigeria Police Force, effective 21st February 2025. He has also been de-kitted, and all police accoutrements have been retrieved from him.

“This action follows administrative disciplinary measures taken against him by the command for ‘discreditable conduct and offences against discipline’.

Isa, the head of the Abia State Police Command, emphasized that the force maintains a strict no-tolerance policy toward unprofessional behavior, promising the public that rogue elements within the ranks would not be tolerated.

He declared that under his stewardship, the command is fully aligned with the Inspector General of Police’s goal of fostering a force that is professionally skilled, service-oriented, adherent to legal standards, and responsive to the needs of the community. Despite attempts to obtain more specifics about the officer’s offense, no additional information was forthcoming, as key police officials remained unreachable.
