Fubara Surrounds Himself With Betrayers – Wike Reveals

Listen to article

The Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has said that Governor of Rivers State Simi Fubara surrounds himself with those he wants to be governor of the state.

The Minister made the claims while addressing a large number of Kalabari people at a grand reception in Rivers State on Saturday.

He faulted Fubara’s political allies, describing their advice to him as ‘bad’.

“You (Fubara) surrounded yourself with people who wanted to be governor, whom I said ‘no, these people don’t mean well for Rivers State.’ They are the ones surrounding you, giving you advice. Do you think you will succeed? They will give bad advice, and look at what bad advice is doing to you. You are already down 2-0, and there’s more to come.”

DAILY POST reported that Wike earlier alleged that Fubara was not an Ijaw man. https://dailypost.ng/2025/03/15/rivers-crisis-let-nobody-deceive-you-fubara-not-ijaw-man-wike/

The latest outburst against Fubara followed his recent budget presentation letter to the Martins Amaewhule’s led Rivers House of Assembly.

However, the House on Friday declared an indefinite recess. https://dailypost.ng/2025/03/14/pro-wike-lawmakers-adjourn-sitting-indefinitely/

Recall that weeks ago, the Supreme Court, in a judgement delivered by Justice Emmanuel Akomaye Agim, ordered the 27 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to resume functions immediately.

In other news, Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has explained the rationale behind his administration’s economic reforms, saying the primary motive was protecting the interests of future generations.

A statement by spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, said the president spoke on Thursday at the State House in Abuja while receiving a delegation of former National Assembly colleagues from the aborted Third Republic, during which he served as a Senator representing Lagos West.

The president said for 50 years, Nigeria was spending money of generations yet unborn and servicing the West coast of the nation’s subregion with fuel, adding that it was getting difficult to plan for the future of Nigeria’s children
