Former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has visited former Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, and Pastor Tunde Bakare in Lagos.
El-Rufai’s media adviser, Muyiwa Adekeye, revealed this on X on Sunday.
“Malam Nasir @elrufai was in Lagos today to visit Ogbeni @raufaregbesola and Pastor Tunde Bakare,” Adekeye tweeted.
El-Rufai’s meeting with both men comes days after he also paid a visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari in Kaduna.
His visit to Lagos has sparked fresh speculation about his political future and possible strategic alliances ahead of the 2027 elections.
Aregbesola, a two-term governor of Osun State and former ally of President Bola Tinubu, recently defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, following a protracted crisis within the party in Osun State.
Bakare, on the other hand, is a prominent political figure and a former presidential aspirant under APC.
In other news, The former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani, has revealed why he rejoined the All Progressives Congress, APC, after leaving the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Sani had dumped the APC in October 2018 amid controversies surrounding the party’s primaries.
He then decamped to the PDP and secured the party’s senatorial ticket. But he lost the 2019 election to the current governor of Kaduna state, Uba Sani.
On February 16, Sani returned to the APC alongside some PDP and the New Nigeria Peoples Party members in Kaduna.
Speaking on Friday during an appearance on a Channels Television programme, Hard Copy, Sani said the Kaduna Governor was responsible for his return to the ruling party following the reconciliation talks across the state.
