Governor Monday Okpebholo has officially given his approval to a revised supplementary budget worth N485 billion, which was recently passed by the Edo State House of Assembly.
The signing took place on Monday in the state capital, Benin City, and it marks a significant step in the state’s financial planning. The newly approved budget is set to address key financial priorities and drive the ongoing development projects across Edo State.
The governor, in acknowledging the rapid passage of the bill, extended his heartfelt thanks to the lawmakers who were present at the Government House. His words of appreciation emphasized the swift and coordinated effort of the legislators in moving the document forward for the benefit of the state.
He is confident that the timely actions of the lawmakers will empower the government to carry out its development plans with greater efficiency and speed. This proactive step is expected to enable a seamless implementation of initiatives aimed at advancing the state’s growth.

At the helm of the formal visit was Blessing Agbebaku, the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, who was joined by his fellow lawmakers. Their visit was seen as a critical step in fostering stronger ties between the legislative and executive arms of the state government.
Agbebaku disclosed that the desire to see the government commence its projects as soon as possible was the reason it speedily passed the bill which was presented to the house on Wednesday.
