Former PDP Legal Adviser Calls For Wike’s Exit From Party

Mark Jacob, a seasoned legal expert and ex-PDP National Legal Adviser has made a bold demand for Nyesom Wike’s resignation from the party, citing concerns over his continued involvement as FCT Minister.

On Thursday’s News broadcast, Mark Jacob shared his misgivings about Nyesom Wike’s decision to join the APC-led federal government as a minister, citing concerns about Wike’s loyalty to the PDP and his personal integrity.

Mark Jacob took aim at Nyesom Wike, alleging that his actions have intensified the infighting within the PDP and casting doubt on his dedication to the party’s cause.

As a former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has been a divisive figure within the PDP, particularly after his highly publicized feud with party leaders during the 2023 electoral contest.

The decision to name Nyesom Wike as FCT Minister in President Tinubu’s government has generated intense debate, fueling speculation about his commitment to the PDP and its values.

Jacob urged Wike to make the ‘honourable’ decision of leaving the party, arguing that his continued presence could destabilize the PDP further.

Jacob said, ‘I see him as a coward who is not bold enough to leave the PDP and go to the APC. Having taken a stance against the PDP, a gentleman who wants to be respected should have resigned from the PDP. You cannot be blowing hot and cold at the same time. You cannot be kicking against the PDP and still claim you are still PDP.

‘It is completely ungentlemanly. Anybody with a good conscience who wants to be respected even by his children should be ashamed when he does things like these because it is (a) complete irony.

‘It is time people tell him the truth.

‘You cannot in good conscience say you are a member of the PDP and you are fighting PDP; it is not done anywhere.’

The Ijaw national leader, Edwin Clark, has already sounded the alarm, writing an open letter to the PDP leadership demanding an investigation into Wike’s alleged anti-party actions, with expulsion a possible outcome if found guilty, a call now reinforced by Mark Jacob’s comments.
