Bauchi State Government officials took a proactive stance on Wednesday, pre-emptively shutting down any potential for protest in the state.
By issuing a stern warning to would-be demonstrators, authorities ensured that their message was loud and clear: unrest would be swiftly addressed.
Against the backdrop of a planned nationwide demonstration, Bauchi State’s Secretary to the Government, Barrister Ibrahim Kashim, held a press conference at the Government House to set the record straight: no protests would be allowed to take place within the state’s boundaries. With clarity and conviction, he dispelled any rumors of unrest.
“On the part of the government, we completely dissociate ourselves from any protest. We are not aware, we are not welcoming any protest, and it’s not going to happen in Bauchi State,” Kashim said.
Barrister Kashim proudly pointed to Bauchi State’s long-standing reputation as a bastion of peace and serenity, underscoring the government’s unwavering commitment to preserving this harmony. With a steadfast resolve, he reaffirmed the state’s dedication to maintaining its tranquil atmosphere.
The SSG cautioned the organisers stating, “ If they insist on protesting, they should do so elsewhere, not in Bauchi State.”

Barrister Kashim swiftly debunked recent media reports claiming that primary healthcare centers in the state were being shut down, stating categorically that such actions were taken without the government’s knowledge, consent, or approval. He set the record straight, dismissing the allegations as baseless.
“We will investigate the matter thoroughly, and appropriate actions will be taken against those responsible,” he stated.
The Secretary to the State Government gave a firm assurance that primary healthcare centers and public institutions would remain open, operating on their standard schedules. He advised the public to ignore any misleading reports about closures, emphasizing that these vital services would continue uninterrupted.
Barrister Kashim emphasized that the state’s security apparatus and all relevant agencies are on high alert, ready to prevent any form of protest or disruption within Bauchi State. He reassured residents that they can go about their daily lives without fear of interruption, ensuring a safe and secure environment.
