Yesterday, the Imo State government formally presented the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) with a newly commissioned, electronic tollgate at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport in Owerri, symbolizing a significant investment in the airport’s infrastructure and efficiency.
Governor Hope Uzodimma, who inaugurated the facility, emphasized that the new tollgate will empower FAAN personnel to deliver exceptional services to both Imo indigenes and Nigerians at large, ensuring a seamless travel experience.
Governor Uzodimma, while commissioning the facility, emphasized that the state government’s initiative aimed to not only revamp the airport’s ambiance but also implement an effective traffic management system, boosting overall functionality.
Governor Uzodimma noted that the state-of-the-art facility will not only enhance the airport’s infrastructure but also inspire FAAN to elevate their service standards, providing a superior travel experience.

Governor Uzodimma acknowledged that President Bola Tinubu had earlier commissioned the airport road, aligning with the ongoing installation of the advanced facility, highlighting the state’s commitment to modernization.
Earlier, Airport Manager Mrs. Nkechi Ihekwuaba had greeted Governor Uzodimma and his entourage, thanking them for their presence and acknowledging the governor’s contributions to the airport’s development, including the provision of the modern facility.
