Europe-based consortium, Advance Global Solutions, made up of no fewer than 20 companies has showed interest to bring in investments in multiple sectors in Abia State.

The consortium is desirous of investing in sustainable agriculture (green solution), blue solution, water treatment, renewable energy and recycling of plastics among other in the state.

President of the consortium, Attilio Bianci made this disclosure on Friday when he visited the governor, Alex Otti in the state and solicited the partnership of his administration for the prospects.

“We are very strong in the fields of sustainable agriculture, renewable energy. It reminds me of how we can approach some funds to finance some project here,” he explained.

The president, therefore, used the forum to invite the governor to an economic forum the consortium will organize in Lagos in September this year.

In his response, Otti said the state is open to partnership with prospective and genuine investors interested in the state and thanked the president for the visit and the intention.

“This administration believes in partnership. No society can develop if it is introverted. We have to open up to new skills, new technology, and new capital,” the governor maintained.

Otti, who noted that the consortium’s areas of interest will add value to the economy of the state, assured that the administration will look at the proposal with a view to making it work.

Meanwhile, Governor Otti on Thursday flagged off the reconstruction of the road which happens to be the shortest route from Umuahia to Arochukwu.

The Eastern Updates reports that 30km Arochukwu-Ndi Okereke-Ozuabam road is widely considered the shortest connection to access Arochukwu from Umuahia, the capital city and vice versa. Unfortunately, for many years, successive governments have abandoned it.

Arochukwu Local Government is at the northern tip of Abia State and is plagued by bad roads so much so that travelling through Akwa Ibom State offers the easiest route to the area.
