Assembly Polls: Please Vote For APGA, Soludo Begs Residents

The Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has appealed to the people of the state and its residents to vote for candidates of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the forthcoming state House of Assembly election.

According to Soludo, voting for APGA candidates would help him sustain the tempo of development across the 21 local government areas of the state.

The governor made the appeal through his Press Secretary, Mr. Christian Aburime, who spoke to journalists in Awka, on Friday.

He made this known while speaking on the preparation for the March 11 state House of Assembly election.

Anambra State is one of the states where only the House of Assembly election will take place.

The governor said the massive support for APGA’s candidates will enable him to work and attract more dividends of democracy to the state.

In another report, the National Director of Operations, Presidential Campaign Council for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Mr. Afam Enemokwu, has lashed out at the leadership of the party of accusing it of abandoning its presidential candidate, Prof. Peter Umeadi, and other candidates, during Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections.

Enemokwu alleged that the party leadership, led by the Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, failed to do the needful to ensure the victory of the party’s candidates.

The Eastern Updates had earlier reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission had on Tuesday declared candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, as the winner of presidential election in Anambra State.

Obi, who is a former governor of Anambra, polled  584,621 votes and won in all the 21 local government areas of the state.
