The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited says it stands by its earlier disclosure that in its recent purchase from the Dangote Refinery, the Petrol product was sold to them at ₦897 per liter.

Olufemi Soneye who is the recent NNPCL spokesperson, has also disclosed this exclusively to reporters on Sunday.

This comes after the Dangote Group in a statement by its spokesperson, Anthony Chiejina, on Sunday disagreed with NNPCL over its statement that Dangote Refinery Petrol was to them at 898 per litre.

However, when they were contacted, the NNPCL spokesperson on his reaction to Dangote Refinery’s statement, he said, he stood by his revelation.

“We stand by our earlier stand that Dangote Refinery Petrol is sold to us at N898 per litre.

“We have documents to back this point”, he reiterated.

The confusion comes after Dangote Refinery started loading its petrol on Sunday.

NNPCL had confirmed that 70 trucks belonging to the state-owned firm loaded Dangote Petrol on Sunday.

In another news, in lieu of the biting hike in fuel prices in the country, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited announced on Saturday that about 300 trucks had arrived at the Dangote Refinery ahead of the loading of petrol for distribution.

The Eastern Updates has also reported that NNPC announced that the first batch of petrol would be loaded from Dangote Refinery on Sunday.

The company’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, disclosed the arrival of the trucks at the refinery via X.

Soneye wrote: “NNPC Ltd. trucks are arriving at the Dangote Refinery in preparation for the scheduled petrol loading on Sunday, September 15, 2024.

“By the end of today, at least 300 trucks will be stationed at the refinery’s fuel loading gantry.”

Similarly, NNPC said trucks have been mobilized to the refinery ahead of Sunday’s loading.
